In honor of Ten Years in Business, LDG Consulting is highlighting twelve of our top clients from this past decade. Integral CEO Egbert L. J. Perry is a native of Antigua and Barbuda. He co-founded the company in 1993, vertically integrating with subsidiaries in the community development, commercial real estate, investment management, property management and program management fields. A community development, commercial real estate and construction professional since 1979, Egbert has developed and built residential, office, retail, institutional and mixed-use projects. For 13 years from early 1980 to late 1992, he helped to grow an Atlanta-based real estate and construction company into the nation’s 3rd largest African-American owned business, with annual revenues of about $200 million.

An honors graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Egbert received both his BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from the University’s Towne School, and an MBA with majors in Finance and Accounting from its Wharton School. In 1990, he was elected as the eleventh graduate in the University’s then 250-year history to be named to the “Gallery of Distinguished Engineering Alumni” of the University’s Engineering School. Past Board assignments include the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Atlanta International School and United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.

LDG AND INTEGRAL

Both of the projects LDG worked on with Integral are part of American history. Public housing first came to America as a part of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal in the 1930s. Centennial Place was formerly known as Techwood Homes, which was dedicated by FDR. Scholars Landing was formerly known as University Homes. Both of these projects were developed by Integral – a company which LDG Consulting’s founder, Alrich Lynch, served as a development and program manager for half a decade, just after the Atlanta Olympics days. The same general contractor who worked on Mercy Park, another LDG Consulting project, was also working on Scholars Landing and highly recommended that LDG Consulting be brought on to provide their expert assistance.

CENTENNIAL PLACE PHASE IV

Phase IV of Centennial Place completed a rehabilitation effort in 2019. The original phase was constructed nearly two decades ago. Centennial Place is a five-phase project totaling over $200 million. The community is now home to both low-income and moderately affluent residents alike. The development sports tree-lined streets, pools, playgrounds, an early learning center called Sheltering Arms and even an elementary school, Centennial Academy (Atlanta’s first conversion charter school).

Centennial Place was the first HOPE VI Development in the United States (a federal program under the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)).

SCHOLARS LANDING PHASE III

Scholars Landing is an 18-acre family and senior housing project. We started working on Phase 3 in November 2018 and it has a substantial completion date of December 2019. The groundbreaking for this phase of the project was held Nov. 2 of 2018.

Located right next to the AUC (Atlanta University Center), Scholars Landing is being built on the site formerly known as University Homes – a public housing project originally built in 1937. Nearly 80% of the Scholars Landing units are reserved for low-income and working class residents. Scholars Landing is a part of the Choice Neighborhoods investments which aligns with Invest Atlanta’s revitalization development approach. Adjacent to Phase 3 are the Oasis and Veranda projects – built for seniors.
