In honor of Ten Years in Business, LDG Consulting is highlighting twelve of our top clients from this past decade. We are elated to announce Honoree Number Two: Brock Built Homes. Steve Brock, founder and President of Brock Built, brings over 30 years of home building experience to the marketplace. His homes are built with superior craftsmanship at an exceptional value.
Nearly nine years ago, we started working on a massive project with Brock Built called West Highlands where we had the honor to serve as the liaison between Brock and Atlanta Housing. We’ve primarily been their development manager for public improvements since 2011. “What’s unique about our role with Brock is that we’re on the general contractor’s side of the table for this project, which is a little different from our other client engagements,” Alrich Lynch, LDG Owner, noted. “Normally, LDG is on the developer side so this has been a freshly rewarding engagement for us.”
During the recession, Brock Built worked hard to be as efficient as possible. Not wanting to tie up their existing staff’s time, they engaged our services when the opportunity arose to acquire a significant amount of land from several banks. Perfect timing as the recession was beginning to thaw. LDG has performed proforma work (pre-development) as well as general advisory services for Brock Built on several projects associated with land acquisition.
The West Highlands project on the West side of Atlanta, GA is a HOPE VI redevelopment of the former Perry Homes public housing project involving 784 homes. LDG Consulting was engaged to provide general development and construction management services as an extension of staff for the single-family builder. Previous relationships with the Atlanta Housing Authority were critical in this decision-making process. Activities engaged include development activities and approvals with the City of Atlanta, recording of plats, and final approval from the City. The project also utilizes tax increment financing, where LDG assisted in the validation of eligible expenses and sizing of the eventual bond issuance. We also acting as a critical point of contact with external partners in all matters associated with city TAD financing.
Established West Highlands is walking distance to the planned Westside Reservoir Park, scheduled to become Atlanta’s largest park, over 300 acres. The park will be 30% larger than Piedmont Park, Atlanta’s current premier urban park. This new Westside Park will be the centerpiece for all the connected parks and green spaces on the Atlanta Beltline. The award-winning West Highlands is a master-planned residential community in West Midtown Atlanta. Conveniently located just a few minutes from Downtown and Atlantic Station, including major interstates with easy access to the Atlanta airport. This appealing intown neighborhood features Brock Built’s Craftsman style homes with exceptional exterior and interior finishes from the Mid $400’s.
In addition to its great location and attractive homes, the expansive green space in and around the neighborhood offers picnic areas, walk paths, playgrounds, and nearby Heman E. Perry Park.

To date, Steve has built over 1300 homes and has effectively altered the landscape of Atlanta’s West Side. He created innovative and comfortable places to live close to the city, with beautiful homes, tree-lined streets, neighborhood parks, sidewalks and relaxing green spaces. “Our goal is to enrich the lives we touch by helping our buyers achieve their dreams through home ownership,” explains Steve.
